What is the Chicago TechPath Alliance?
The Chicago TechPath Alliance (CTPA) is a 6-month mentorship program designed to connect experienced tech professionals with emerging talent from underrepresented and underserved communities across Chicago.
Our goal is simple:
Build real relationships that unlock opportunity, confidence, and career momentum. Through monthly workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and ongoing support, mentors help mentees.
Stronger together: the power of nonprofit collaboration
The Chicago TechPath Alliance is built on collaboration. Our nonprofit partners provide industry-aligned training, mentorship, and support to participants—ensuring they develop the technical skills, confidence, and connections needed to launch successful careers.

Blacks in Technology
The largest global community for Black tech professionals, offering networking, mentorship, and career support.

Code Your Dreams
Empowers underserved youth by teaching coding, design, and entrepreneurship skills through hands-on projects.

Discovery Partners Institute
Trains people for high-demand tech jobs, conducts applied R&D, and builds businesses to grow Chicago’s tech ecosystem.
As a nonprofit in the Alliance, you benefit by expanding career pathways for your participants through access to corporate hiring networks and employer mentorship programs, providing valuable job opportunities. You also strengthen participant outcomes with hands-on career guidance, equipping them with the skills and support needed for success. Additionally, you become part of an initiative dedicated to shaping the future of Chicago’s tech workforce, driving long-term industry growth and community impact.

Mentee commitment
As a mentee, you’ll commit to:
- 2 hours per week for 6 months
- Participate actively in 1:1 mentoring sessions
- Attend monthly career-building workshops (resume building, networking, interview skills, personal branding, and more)
- Stay engaged: ask questions, seek feedback, and follow through on advice

It’s about building the confidence, skills, and network you’ll need to carve your own path forward in tech.
