Congratulations Denise Nathan – you are Wevise’s Volunteer of the Month for March 2025! As Wevise’s Social Media Specialist, Denise has played a key role in increasing our organization’s brand awareness and reach across social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram. In Wevise’s continued search for partners, mentors and mentees, Denise puts in all the work behind the scenes to ensure that the organization’s online footprint grows in a sustainable fashion.
Denise, who lives in Fountain, Colorado, completed her undergraduate certificate in Digital Marketing at Colorado State University – Global and immediately joined Wevise both to gather on-the-job experience and take part in a meaningful mission.
“I wanted to volunteer my time for an organization that helps individuals from underrepresented communities and be a part of something bigger,” she said. “I wanted to use my knowledge and skills to help Wevise get its message across social media and be able to showcase its mission to the community. I did not want my talents and skills to be left dormant and use them in a positive and effective way.”
Those talents are on full display. Wevise has gone from almost nothing to nearly 1,000 followers on LinkedIn under Denise’s watch, and growth on Instagram moves ever upward. “It still amazes me how much I have been able to make a difference and significant impact in getting our message out to the public,” she said.

Denise brings a wealth of impressive experience to her role with Wevise. She has spent time at Thomson Reuters/Oxford Solutions as a Marketing Project Manager and has a suite of professional certifications sure to make one’s head spin. This cavalcade of qualifications include a Certified Digital Marketing Professional certificate and three different HubSpot certifications, on top of her B.S. in Public Safety Administration/Business Administration and an MA in Sports and Exercise Psychology.
“I have had a very unique career and have had to adapt to life’s challenges and learn to pivot frequently. I see myself as a continuous learner,” she said.
When she’s not speedrunning certifications or volunteering her time at Wevise, Denise spends time with Josh, her husband of 15 years, and her 9-year-old pug Lulu. They enjoy hiking and finding new trails near and far within the state of Colorado.
And if you think her considerable talents stop at marketing and social media, you’ve got yet another thing coming. She currently blogs for “Psyched about Marketing,” which zeroes in on the field of marketing psychology and allows her to write about her areas of expertise. And if that wasn’t enough, Denise is also a semi-professional artist who uses her at-home studio to produce soft pastel, acrylic, and watercolor paintings.
All of her skills and passions have been invaluable when it comes to Wevise.
“My favorite part of volunteering with Wevise is being able to tap into my creativity and not be afraid to try new things on social media with each new social media campaign that I create,” she said. “I see so much potential with this organization even with the current social and economic challenges that we are facing overall across the U.S.”
