PORTLAND, OR – November 2023. Wevise, a nonprofit provider of mentorship opportunities, announces today a partnership with Ada Developers Academy, a nonprofit school for software development. This collaboration will allow Ada alums and students to join the Wevise platform to discover instantly curated mentor matches based on their specific needs, interests, background, and experience.
The Wevise platform, coupled with Ada’s industry-leading program, will benefit the careers of hundreds of Ada Developers Academy alumni and students. The platform’s comprehensive, proprietary matching algorithm will connect alumni and student mentees with mentors across the platform. Both will be able to view possible matches and select the right people, cadence, and length of mentorship. Partnerships like this are at the core of how Wevise brings tech mentorship opportunities to its audience in underserved communities and are an essential part of the Wevise impact model.
Janice Levenhagen, CEO of Wevise, says, “Partnerships with organizations like Ada Developers Academy are a perfect match for us and allow us to better reach underserved and disadvantaged communities in the technology industry. Through our platform, we provide much-needed support to our nonprofit partners so they can focus their limited time and resources on running their educational programs while still offering mentorship opportunities.”
Shawna L. Young, Interim CEO of Ada Developers Academy, says, “As a nonprofit, finding the best way to provide mentorship support to our alumni and students was a challenge. With this free partnership with Wevise, we’re able to provide mentorship opportunities without dramatically increasing our bandwidth. We’re excited to increase the success of our alumni and students with their support.”
Mentors can sign up to support Ada mentees starting now through this custom signup link: https://lnkd.in/esnXhjUJ. Ada’s mentee signup will start mid-November.
