The Role
As Program Director, you will report directly to the Chief Programs Officer and lead programs that shape
the futures of diverse individuals in technology. You will own the process for developing innovative
programs like our on-demand mentorship platform, directly impacting individuals’ lives and careers. This
is where strategy meets heart — where your leadership can ignite progressive, lasting change. While we
currently have a platform-focused team, you’ll be designing and building the rest of the Program team.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Manage Programs: Craft and lead all aspects of programs tailored to diverse needs, setting the stage for impactful mentorship and education. Ensure programs meet organizational goals and are built to scale.
- Empower and Lead a Team: Design, build, onboard, and lead the programs team with vision and empathy, ensuring effective execution and delivery of program objectives as the platform evolves from MVP to beta and beyond.
- Define and Measure Success: Establish KPIs and implement data- and people-driven evaluation mechanisms to assess program effectiveness and inform strategic decisions.
- Build Partnerships: Cultivate meaningful connections with partners, amplifying our mission and growing our reach.
- Collaborate Across Leadership: Work closely with the Chief Programs Officer and other organizational leaders to ensure alignment and support, ensuring our offerings effectively meet the needs of our community.
Requirements
- Passion for the Wevise mission of providing equitable access to mentorship, education, and career opportunities in tech, especially for underrepresented and disadvantaged communities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in building, managing, and scaling programs, with a preference for backgrounds in technology and nonprofit sectors.
- Strong communication, networking, and organizational skills, with the ability to navigate a startup’s growth stages.
- A strategic problem solver and implementer — someone who can conceive big ideas and execute them with precision.
- Ability to align program initiatives with Wevise’s strategic goals and contribute meaningfully to cross-functional leadership conversations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team in a volunteer-driven environment, fostering a positive, productive, and inclusive culture.
- Proficiency in using quantitative and qualitative data to drive strategic decisions and
- demonstrate program impact.
- A dedicated advocate for diversity and inclusion, with a firm belief in the power of technology to transform lives.
- Ability to create and manage a budget.
- A commitment to contributing a minimum of 10 hours per week to Wevise.
