The Role
Wevise is seeking an experienced volunteer QA Engineer who will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and providing valuable feedback to help enhance Wevise’s digital solutions. This position is ideal for a passionate, detail-oriented individual who is eager to contribute to the tech nonprofit sector while working independently and collaboratively with our development team. The QA Engineer will help ensure that our tools and platforms are of the highest standard, contributing to Wevise’s mission of promoting diversity and inclusion in tech.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute manual and automated test plans to ensure the quality of Wevise’s software products.
- Collaborate with the development team to understand features, functionality, and user requirements.
- Identify, report, and track bugs, issues, and inconsistencies found during testing, ensuring timely resolution.
- Perform functional, regression, usability, and performance testing across different platforms and environments.
- Provide detailed feedback to improve the overall user experience and the robustness of our products.
- Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, methodologies, and best practices.
- Help with the creation and maintenance of testing documentation, including test cases, reports, and test plans.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress, roadblocks, and innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance (QA) engineering, software testing, or a related field, preferably within a startup environment.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, testing methodologies, and best practices.
- Proficiency in manual and automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, TestRail, Postman, JIRA).
- Knowledge of software debugging and bug tracking systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about how to improve product quality.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and actionable feedback.
- A commitment to Wevise’s mission of driving diversity, equity, and inclusion in technology.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 5-10 hours per week on a volunteer basis.
