Position Summary
Wevise connects people breaking into tech with mentors who don’t just give advice, but open doors. We’re looking for a volunteer to help us find and welcome our next set of cohort participants – mentees & mentors. This is a high-impact role on a small, scrappy team. You’ll have real ownership over who joins the program, direct access to leadership, and a front-row seat to how an early-stage business is built. Wevise is early enough that there’s real room to try new things, take on more than your title suggests, and grow in whatever direction interests you. If you want to step into leadership, there’s space for that too. The skills you build here travel – recruitment, community building, operations, and program design are valuable in any industry.
What you’ll do
- Identify and reach out to potential mentees and mentors through online communities, job boards, and partner organizations
- Conduct phone screens with candidates to assess fit and surface any questions for the team
- Guide accepted participants through onboarding and make sure they’re ready before the program begins
You’d be great at this if you
- Genuinely enjoy talking to people and making them feel seen and excited about something
- Are naturally organized and don’t let things fall through the cracks
- Can work independently and take initiative without a lot of hand-holding
- Have a background in recruiting, community organizing, social work, education, sales, or anything else that’s put you in the business of connecting people to opportunities
- Care about economic mobility and want your time to go toward something that matters
