January 2025 Volunteer of the Month: Maggie Faust

All Wevise volunteers put their time and effort into the mentorship cause, piling up volunteer hours outside of their daily jobs because they care deeply about the mission. But few people put as much work into this endeavor as Maggie Faust, our Volunteer of the Month for January.

Maggie serves as Wevise’s Head of Partnerships, a crucial role for a nonprofit organization whose partnerships are meant to be the bedrock of its mission. Her experience comes from her time implementing complex clinical software in inpatient settings with Epic Systems. In the last few years she’s worked as Chief Customer Officer at Loris, an AI startup in New York City focused on customer experience, and now does consulting for startups and nonprofits spanning various initiatives, from fundraising, to go-to-market strategy, to org design.

When Maggie arrived at Wevise, there was no real partnership foundation or approach set in stone. “I worked to put that foundation in place, then used it develop strategies to engage the partners needed for our Chicago TechPath Alliance program launching this spring,” she said. The TechPath Alliance is a monumental effort that has yielded five new partners and will soon see more join the fray. “I’m very proud to do my part to help bring the TechPath Alliance program to life,” she added.

This vast undertaking could only be led by someone with a deep commitment to Wevise’s mission and values. “I believe there is a huge pool of untapped tech talent in the U.S. that, with the right support and engagement, can be brought into the tech industry and help it prosper – and I think Wevise can pave the way for that talent market,” Maggie said. In spite of the rise of AI, Maggie believes there will always be “meaningful opportunities for human talent in tech for many years to come.”

Maggie has lived in New York for over a decade and is planning to move to Golden, Colorado, this summer with her husband and 6-month-old son. She plans to switch from consulting to full-time work, focused once again on mission-driven organizations. Leaving the restaurants and bars and the hustle and bustle of NYC will be a change, but Maggie is looking forward to a future of hiking, river floating, and breweries in beautiful Colorado.

As for her favorite part of volunteering with Wevise? It shoudn’t be a surprise: “Working with the people! I find it inspiring to work with an organization that has built an impressive mentorship matching platform with a global all-volunteer workforce.”
